The chain of command should be well defined so that employees know who they should report to and who to direct the workers regarding making decisions. Otherwise there will be lack of a force that will make the workers and different departments to coordinate.

Planning is the process of identifying different goals that a business needs to achieve and setting the means and strategies of achieving them. This will provide the workers with targets they work to meet. This on the other hand means they will be working harder than when they are no goals so that they will be able to reach those goals. They will be nothing to coordinate if at all there are no even short term targets that various departments need to reach.

A good manager should ensure that they develop a good relationship so that they can be free and satisfied in the workplace. A dictatorial manager will find it hard to mobilize workers towards making any important step in improving the organization. This will even make them less productive because they will tend to do most of the things unwillingly.

Managers will need to know how to handle technical issues with their technical skills. This is because junior staff members can get to a point they do not understand or do not know how to go about certain matters. This means they will need to have someone they will look up to in such situations. And since the manager cannot afford to let down the juniors hence they need to be imparted with all these skills.

Directing is also important in the business environment towards achieving coordinated work.
