Every form of entertainment has had its low and high points. It is what makes the entertainment industry what it is. The history of professional wrestling has had it share of both low points and high ones. For most fans, such highlights depend on the years that great matches were fought. At the same time, other fans are keen on the years when top promotion deals were sealed. The following are some of the highlights that have taken center stage as far as this fun sport is concerned.

The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) was established in 1948. This saw a few improvements in the sport. Thanks to the alliance, matches started being aired on national television. The manner in which matches were fought experienced tremendous improvement and much more revenue was earned. Top notch games were played courtesy of the organization.

A big time promoter named Vince McMahon left NWA and went ahead to set up NWA. At the same time, Bruno Sammartino began his eight year supremacy as WWF champion. Lou Thesz ruled in NWA as a three time World Heavy Weight Champion. During this period, it was quite common to find wrestlers holding contest titles. Bruno was defeated by Ivan Koloff in 1971.

McMahon signed Hulk Hogan in 1963, a very remarkable move in WWF. On the other hand, NWA continued to rise. It had a major installment with Starrcade. McMahon started Wrestle Mania in 1985, a big move in the account of the game under discussion. The game was taken many steps higher thanks to this action. Stakeholders welcomed this development with enthusiasm.

Lovers of Wrestle Mania consider 1987 to be an incredible year for WWF. The torch was handed to Hulk Hogan by Andre the Giant. Roughly 100,000 supporters attended part three of Wrestle Mania. By 1989, WWF had made major strides to becoming the top promoter in the industry. The feuds involved Ric Flair with two personalities named Ricky Steamboat and Terry Funk. The feuds added the fun to this game as fans love a bit of drama. It is what entertainment is essentially made up of.

1996 saw Kevin Nash and Scott Hall intimidate WCW. Hulk Hogan founded the NWO on that year and the era of Austin, a WWF wrestler 3:16 took off. Mike Tyson involved himself with the story line of Steve Austin in 1998 making the year quite memorable.

It is this same year that saw Undertaker throw Foley off the summit of the cell. In WCW, Goldberg rose to greatness. At around the same time, ECW maintained the hardcore style of fighting. 1998 certainly features as one of the greatest year in the account of this form of pursuit.
