When interviewing potential managers, you should also check what type of accounting arrangements they can offer you. If they are good at keeping accounting records, this means that there will be less work for you when taxes need to be filed.

If you can afford the cost, then hiring a management company might be a viable option for you. When you are interviewing prospective companies, be sure to ask about their fees. These management fees typically range between 5 and 10 percent of the rent revenue. In a down market, you still have the option of managing things yourself, if you are able to, until the market recovers.
