How To Prepare Striper Lures

By Christa Jarvis

Fishing can be regarded as part of the most amazing outdoor activities an individual can ever be involved in. This action is however fun only if one is actually catching the fishes. To make this happen, it is essential that all factors related to the fishing are prepared correctly. For instance, when the fishes being caught are stripers, an individual must know how to organize the striper lures. During the making of a lure if it is for a striper or any other fish, one must always learn how to make the best knot.

Before learning how to tie the lure, there are some requirements that must be bought like the reel and the fishing rods. An extra-long line is needed for this activity because it will give some extra slack. The first thing to do when learning this process is to tie the rope like you are tying shoes by doubling the rope over at around five inches.

Later, the entire loop should be passed through the lure without letting it get undone. It should be done in such a way that there are two sections going through the eye. After this, one must tie an overhead knot again like they were tying shoe laces. The loop should later be tightened by pulling both ends as tight as possible. The excess line must be trimmed using nail clippers.

When trying this action, there are some warnings and guidelines that may be very valuable. First and foremost, a person must make certain that they know about the tag end that is supposed to be hanging to the end whereas the other length should be hanging slackly on the bar. They should also take into deliberation that wetting the loops with a little saliva can help them to be much stronger.

It is important to know that burning the ends of the knots makes them weaker; they are supposed to trim them instead. They should give themselves enough leeway on the tag that will be easier to work with. They should be very careful not to hook themselves when they are tugging on the tag line to tighten the knot.

Learning how to make the lures is not the only important thing when going fishing. One must also know the best bait to be used on the lures. For instance, the shad is possibly the most commonly used bait by fishers. Shad can be found below or at the end of dams. It can be identified by its silver body with a green back and large scales. One must pick the shads that are around four inches.

The American eel is also good bait. They can be distinguished by their snake looking bodies. They have sharp teeth and a small, sharp-pointed head. They can be found in ponds, water sheds, rivers streams and various other watery places. They are very irresistible when presented to the stripers. They can even be the best bait for fishing stripers.

With all the above information then fishing should not be a hard thing to pull off. This will make the activity fun and above all successful. If the right thing is done then the number of fish caught will be so many that one will have a problem taking them all home.
