Choosing The Right Honeymoon Safari

By Stacey Burt

Couples today have many more options for their honeymoons than ever before. A honeymoon safari is just one of these options that many couples are enjoying now. There are so many destinations and packages on offer that making a choice can be quite daunting.

It is also a good idea to consider type of travel and whether simple camps, luxury tented camps or traditional lodges are preferred. The couple may be quite happy about joining a group or they may prefer to customize their own tour. Fortunately, there are many companies prepared to help with planning.

Most couples want some luxury when it comes to accommodation and they will not be disappointed. Many of the lodges are extremely luxurious and even the tented camps have a high standard of accommodation. Beautifully designed and decorated private suites are available for the special couple. Of course those with a more limited budget have simpler options available to them.

There is no shortage of romance with moonlit baths, candlelit private dinners and champagne breakfasts in the bush, all creating memories that will never be forgotten. Couples are often made to feel very special by the managers of lodges and camps with complimentary bottles of champagne on arrival and other thoughtful gestures.

Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia, the Seychelles and Zanzibar are just a few of the destinations to select from. Each of them have their own unique appeal, whether it is the wildlife or the wonderful beaches. Some countries like Tanzania offer the opportunity to experience game viewing for a couple of days followed by days relaxing on a lovely beach.

Game viewing, sunbathing and swimming, sleeping under the stars, enjoying the natural beauty of mountains, dunes, bush and beaches or taking a sunrise hot air balloon flight make such an experience unforgettable. The food is usually plentiful, fresh and expertly prepared. Breakfasts will usually include fruit, cereals, eggs, bacon, cold meat, sausages and breads. Lunches and dinners may include salads, pastas, meat, fish as well as fresh vegetables and fruit all expertly prepared.

Fears about dangerous animals and other safety issues may put couples off such a trip. However, safety of guests is a special concern of any reputable company and everything possible will be done to ensure this. Guides used are expertly trained and know how to assess situations and avoid danger.

A company with many years of experience and a good reputation knows exactly how to offer the most rewarding experience, customizing a trip to get the most out of what has been budgeted. Planning can be complex and confusing so relying on such expertise makes a big difference. A couple can enjoy quality time together and creating memories they will treasure for many years to come.
