A winter visit to the UK, USA, or Europe will inevitably tie in with the spectacular which is Disney on Ice. This themed show has characters from popular Disney animation taking to the ice surrounded by colour, music and magic. Every year there is a new theme, with this year's theme being Frozen. A chance to join Elsa, Ana, and cute little Olav dancing to Let it Go and Do you Wanna Build a Snowman. Remember you are in an ice-rink you wear warm clothes until you are warmed by the love and magic surrounding you.
After a day of touring and singing catchy tunes, you will want to sit down for a cup of tea and where better than the Disney Cafe, Harrods? Set on the fourth floor of this exclusive store, you can have tea and cakes, knickerbocker glories or the obligatory Mickey shaped toasties. Even the chairs have Mickey ears on the back. Obviously as it is Harrods it is not cheap but very cute and just right for a treat.
Whilst in London, the next stop is the Disney Store; although they exist all over Europe, the biggest and therefore best in Europe can be found on Oxford Street. Everything you could think of can be found here; DVDs, princess costumes, cuddly plushies, collectable watches and ornaments; in fact if you can brand it then it probably has. You will be served by enthusiastic cast members and entertained by a background of catchy music. Another expensive trip (potentially) but that seems to be part of the magic.
The ideal way of ending a busy themed weekend is to watch the latest animated movie, Hero 6. This is the heart-warming tale of Hiro and a large balloon-like robot, Baymax. They join a group of chums to be crime-fighting heroes.
This is the first animated production to transpire from the 2009 buy-out of Marvel Comics, and it has been eagerly awaited. The animation is beautiful and the scenes are heart-warming between the lead character, Hiro, and Baymax and a perfect end to a perfect weekend.
