This material is useful in constructing and erecting structures made of concrete. This material is made from mixing heavy metals with other various compounds for instance iron to ensure that it becomes strong. Their letter i is normally coined because of their straight nature and length.

Props are manufactured in various lengths and sizes hence they are applied in different areas in construction. Their variation enables them hold and support great amounts of weight. It also helps in maintenance of the integrity of a given building. Different cross pipes are used in different areas.

The shipyard boat fabrication is a great user of alloyed props. It entails the making of ferries, ships and large boats. Alloyed iron is much stronger than wood. Another reason why it is preferred is that alloyed iron does not require to be sealed before finishing with coats of paint. In most cases, alloyed pipes are made to serve as boat flooring. They also resist shrinking as compared to wood.

To strengthen a tall building, stadiums or pillars, alloyed props are used. They provide excellent support for ballast and offer maximum protection to walls of a building. In order for props to last longer, they are alloyed and painted. Most paints come in various colors hence offer a variety of colors for selection. They allow longer spans in between two or more supports. It does not warp hence making it excellent for structures rectangular in shape.

Most residential buildings have a large space that opens up to the interior and the cross pipes allow for such designs. They get joined with wooden props used for floors and walls. After that they get laminated with veneer so that they become lighter. Thus, there is less squeaks on floors.

Road and rail bridge construction requires the use of such cross pipes. Most single and multiple span bridges normally are made using different lengths of alloyed iron props. These props made to integrate with concrete hence offer maximum support to large and heavy loads.

In the industry of air crafts, iron props are mixed with aluminum to ensure that air crafts float rather than sinking on air. The pipes are manufactured such that they are hollow to ensure that air is allowed through them. The props are welded and affixed together with other fittings.

There is an opposite side to the many uses of alloyed iron cross pipes. The stainless steel i beam undergoes much deformation. This is through the great amounts of deflection they undergo in high temperatures. There is also the problem of anchoring. It should be done with much expertise so as to avoid loss of the shape of a structure. This is because, there may be an alignment misfortune when erecting the cross pipe. Props intended for bolting needed to be properly aligned to avoid stressing on them.
