There are many things that make Alaska adventures unique from all the others. Alaska has an extraordinary geography, economy, climate, people, and culture; providing a wide array of things to experience and places to explore. It truly provides an experience that no other place can offer.

Alaska is among the U. S States found in the north-west end of North America. It is actually the largest State in the U. S covering an area of 1.718 million square kilometers. Surprisingly, it has the smallest population density compared to the 50 states of the U. S. Economic activities in this area include natural gas mining, fishing, and oil industries. Even with these abundant resources, tourism plays a vital part in Alaska economy.

This North American State has a long coastline; it is longer than the combined coastline of all the remaining states. It has a high number of active volcanoes found in the coastal regions and the Aleutians. The volcano with the perfect cone, which is even more symmetrical than Mount Fuji in Japan, is found on Unimak Island (the largest island among the Aleutian islands).

One can hardly miss the abundance of wildlife in this area which is also diverse. There are mammals, birds and fish, found in plenty in Alaska. Some interesting mammals found here include the Mountain goat, Black bear, the Brown bear, Polar bear, Bison, Caribou and the Dall sheep, among others. The Birds and fish species include Longnose Sucker, Rockfish, Pacific Hake, Sandhill Crane and the Lapland Longspur, among others.

An Alaskan adventure will never be complete without the experience of fishing in this place; for Alaska is a popular fishing destination because of its many rivers and lakes, and the long coastline. Alaska offers several types of fishing, and the two most popular are halibut and salmon fishing. Fish that can be caught in this place are: Trout, Northern Pike, Grayling, Arctic Char, Doll, and Varden.

Game hunting is also a thrilling activity any visitor would want to try. People around the world come here to hunt different animals such as black bear, caribou, mountain goat and others. Some biggest game animals in the world are also found in this land. This is why many visitors may come to the place for hunting only. It would be thrilling to see animals like brown bear and the moose, which are huge and hardly found anywhere else in the world. Hunters should have proper licenses, game tags, and follow the set rules for a peaceful experience in the area.

Besides the many fun activities and sights described above, one would also want to visit during some of their cultural events held annually. These are full of display of the Alaskan culture, giving visitors a better feel of this beautiful state. Some popular annual events to look out for include the Alaskan Hummingbird Festival, the Stikine River Birding Festival, World Art Championships at the Fairbanks, the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and Blueberry Festival, among others.
