Racing has its roots to many, many years ago. For quite a while people saw it as a way to vent out their competitive streak and their inherent thirst for winning. There is nothing more elating than the feeling of winning and beating everyone else, and this is mainly one of the many reasons why people are so drawn into this particular sport.

Today, racers are by far more safe than their earliest predecessors. The mechanics of the sport, along with its primary objective, remains the same after thousands of years. From then until now, racing has remained to be a speed game wherein a racer must conquer the clock or best out all the other racers. It is a game where everything seems to be a blur and both competitors and spectators alike all experience that adrenaline rush that leaves you pumping and very much awake.

The said sport is generally conducted on special tracks or roads. They can have a surface made of asphalt, dirt, or concrete. The game will require the racers to complete several laps. A lap is equivalent to one complete turn of the entire race track, and a competitor has to finish a required number.

There are very many types of car races all over the world. There are F1 races, Nascar races, and there are also sprint car competitions. All these race types make use of high powered cars that are specially manufactured to be a precise machine of speed and aerodynamics. Almost every guy has secret dreams of becoming a racer, as it is no secret that the people who risk their lives on the race track make about millions of dollars per year.

Since the F1 cars drive along the European circuit, sprint cars fulfill the need for speed of the average American. They may not really look like the flashy ones that are often seen in the formula one circuits, they are fashioned after its modern design. With the shot to fame of this particular sport, the racers have also been dragged into the spotlight. Today, it is no secret that a participant in this kind of extreme sport can bring home millions. Fame and a lavish lifestyle is actually just an added bonus.

There are also those that require the usage of vehicles. Motocross, for example, uses bikes that go through rough and possibly dangerous terrains. A motocross driver needs to have balance in order to finish the race. There are also those that entail the use of specially modified cars such as karts and F1 racing vehicles.

Quarter midgets are driven by boys aged 6 to 16. This level of racing is often used as a springboard to reach greater heights. This gets its name from the special vehicle that the drivers control, which is only about a quarter of a standard midget race car.

The competitions are often held in tracks that are only a fifth of the standard length. They also drive special cars that are only one fourth than those used by the experts. The earlier one starts, the more he stands a chance.
