Choosing And Planning The Best Backpacking Trips

In no time winter will have set in and talks of nature wonderlands will be reserved for a warmer time of year. For those planning on getting one more trip in before winter sets in think about planning one of the best backpacking trips that most will ever experience. There are famous and out of the way places, scenic, and ecosystem rich discoveries. It's all just a short distance away.

One of the best places for backpacking is the Appalachian Trails. Its a favorite and offers one of the longest trails in the United States, as it spans 14 states. It starts in Georgia and end in Maine. Some suggested trails are in New Hampshire, where the highest peak is, and in the Maine, where the wilderness never crosses a road.

For those that have never experienced the west and all its visual beauty Colorado's Continental Divide is a must for any last of the year backpacker. It is a sight to behold with trails at eight thousand feet in elevation. Those that dare will meet Colorado's Gray's Peak and observe glacier National Park. But take care the mountains can be cold.

If rustic, battling the elements, and testing skills sounds like a thrill then Uinta High-Line Trail might be on the agenda. It is one of Utah's most famous trails. But it also not for the faint of heart. This rough trail and testing the elements experience means survival skills are put to the test when shots of lightning begin above the tree line on this mountain. They are a common and there is little to no place to take shelter.

And for those that are wondering what else the mountain has to offer consider the 75 miles of exquisitely beautiful waters that on the trails. It's views are breathtaking, and the peak at Utah's King's peak is also a great place to view the highest peaks.

Montana known for its beauty and rich and luscious outdoor scenes, fishing and pure escape from city scenes offers the northern Rocky Mountains. It also offers Yellowstone River, scenery worth a long drive to get there, and a type of relaxation and serenity few of viewed. It is a more moderate trail, but beautiful and breath taking.

Another scenic nature experience is the Shenandoah Valley in the east. Northern Virginia offers one of the most beautiful places to visit in the Fall of the year. Make sure to pack a camera for this trip, as its beauty if next to none. The Blue Ridge Mountains also offer some of the best trails in the United States.

The Grand Cannon is one of the natural wonders of the world, with a profound beauty that is indescribable. For backpackers that want not only a trip, but an experience, the Grand Cannon is one of the best backpacking trips to and won't only satisfy those with a rustic wonder, but the beauty and experience is simply one that those who ever experienced the grand cannon remember throughout life. Those planning for grand cannon trips do need a permit to go on the trails however. Plan four months ahead for this trip.
