The town also has a great railway network with direct stops at both the airport and also downtown. The train can connect the town from London the capital of the UK with a journey time of about 1 hour. There is a bus terminus within walking distance of the port and your cruise if this is an easier transport link for yourself. Travelling from the south or the Midlands are also easily arranged by public transport links.

You can start to enjoy your cruise from the moment you arrive into the town the holiday will be able to start straight away by enjoying all the fun aboard a luxury liner heading for the Med or America. One good thing everyone likes about this port is that they can reach here from their own home within the need to fly over to one of Europe's big sea ports where they might not feel quite as home as leaving from Southampton.

There are a number of great tourists attractions around the city which you may wish to visit on your travels to the city. The attractions include an art gallery and also a museum celebrating the life of the seamen of the area and all they have accomplished.

Have a day to spend in Southampton before or during your cruise from here . Then head over to the town centre for some r and r. There are some excellent stores available for shopping including the big brand names at the various shopping centres around the city. The UK currency is the British pound but the shops are happy to accept cards which might be an easier way to pay for your shopping than trying to exchange your money over to UK currency. Enjoy the town.
