How To Charter Private Jet

By Myrtle Cash

A personal jet can also be referred to as a business jet, or colloquially as a biz-jet. This is an aircraft that has fixed jet engines and is used to transport small groups of people. An aircraft that has been hired for a specific use and for specific time is called a charter private jet. A charter entitles the client to private use of the aircraft, helicopter or jetliner, depending on the size of the group.

Fractional leasing is where a portion of the plane is rented out for non commercial use use. This mostly applies to bigger jets that are used for public transport. One can opt to rent out a whole class, or a quarter of the plane depending on its functionality. This is quite inexpensive especially for people who want to travel a one way, or to very remote destinations of the continents.

A charter for a personal plane may be bought from airline companies which provide for this service. Different companies rent their planes at different costs so a lot of work should be put into comparing the costs of different companies so as to obtain the best prices. Some companies also have enticing offers like the jet card which applies for even shorter periods of flight.

The cost of leasing a plane depends on many factors, including the use of the jet and for what amount of time. As most rates are calculated hourly, it is important to know how much flight time will be involved during the hire. Other services on the flight like food, beverages and cleaning are also put into consideration.

Other fees like landing fees and international fees are also catered for in the cost. When considering whether to purchase a plane or rent it, it is important to factor in the amount of time one needs the jet for. Thus, if the purpose is for use once in a while, it is wiser to lease rather than buy. This reduces cost in terms of maintenance, repair and licensing fees.

There are many reasons why people hire such jets. The most common of them is for business trips by business people and government officials. This is due to their busy schedules and uncertainty of their travel times. Luxury jets are also leased for celebrities by nature of their profession, or by people who just want to cruise in the air.

Some organizations use them for charity work and donations in areas where natural disasters have struck. Evacuation of people from these areas is also performed using hired non commercial helicopters especially in war zones or inaccessible landscapes. A plane may also be used where urgent or very important cargo needs to be transported.

Getting a charter private jet might prove tasking as one needs to put a lot of things into consideration. These include the probability of purchasing a jet altogether. The advantages of leasing a jet outweigh those of owning one in terms of cost. There are no licensing issues or maintenance and repair especially when the jet is not in use. All the same, a charter private jet provides privacy, comfort and pure luxury.
